The management, staff, students and entire Startrite community proudly congratulate Professor Peter Quartey, Co-founder and Executive Director of Startrite Montessori School Ltd and Startrite Christian College, on his appointment as Provost of the College of Education at the University of Ghana.
His appointment takes effect on 1 August 2026, and he will serve a three-year term.
Prof. Quartey is a distinguished Professor of Economics with more than 24 years of experience in academia, research, institutional management and corporate governance. He is currently the Acting Director of the Legon Centre for International Affairs and Diplomacy and the immediate past Director of the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research at the University of Ghana.
Throughout his career, he has held several senior leadership positions, including Head of the Department of Economics and Deputy Director of the Centre for Migration Studies. He has also served on several national and international boards and committees.
Prof. Quartey holds a PhD in Development Economics from the University of Manchester, an MSc in Quantitative Development Economics from the University of Warwick, and MPhil and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics from the University of Ghana.
His appointment reflects his dedication to education, academic excellence, research and transformational leadership. The Startrite community is proud of this remarkable achievement and wishes him every success as he assumes this important responsibility.
