Junior High School

The secondary department (SD) provides both Junior High and Cambridge International educational programmes for students within the ages of (11 and 14+) and (15 and 18+) years respectively.

The department spans grades 7 to 9, Cambridge International I and II (Grades 10 and 11) and GCE A- level (Grades 12 and 13).

Grades 7 to 9 follow the 3-year Ghana Education Service (GES) curriculum, which prepares the pupils for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) offered by the West African Examination Council (WAEC).

Cambridge International I and II (Forms 4 and 5) follow the 2-year International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) curriculum. Forms lower 6 and upper 6 follow the 2-year General Certificate of Education – Advance level (GCE A – Level) curriculum. Both curriculums are offered by the Cambridge International Examination (CIE) board of the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.

There are currently six (6) secondary classes. The students are from diverse socio-cultural and religious backgrounds. Despite their different backgrounds, the students respect their differences and thus relate well with each other. With our firm, believe in the Almighty God, we equip students with good moral training, acceptable conduct and ethical behaviour. It is my firm belief that, our students will exhibit these virtues of godliness and discipline anywhere they find themselves as knowledge, once acquired is for life!! This forms the premise of our motto, Knowledge for Life!

Students in Grades 7 to 9 study ten (10) different academic subjects taught by very experienced, competent and dedicated teachers. The subject areas are English Language, Mathematics, Mental Maths, Social Studies, Integrated Science, Religious and Moral Education, French, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Ghanaian Language (Asante Twi), Basic Design and Technology (BDT) offered under the GES curriculum.

International students are taught English language, Mathematics and Combined Sciences as core subjects and Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, English literature, Geography, History and Additional Mathematics as elective subjects. Other subjects like Sociology and Business Studies are also available.

The classrooms are well equipped with interactive teaching aids. Our modern classroom furniture provides students with the comfort they need to concentrate on their studies, as each student is our concern.

Besides the classrooms, students have access to a modern, well-stocked library, science and computer laboratories to enhance their research.

The SD has vibrant co-curricular activities for its students whereby all students are placed in clubs of their choice to help unearth their talents.

Students of the SD, both local and International, have a choice of being day students or boarders. The school provides a modern, well-ventilated boarding house where students are housed under strict care and supervision.

Do you believe in holistic education under disciplined conditions? We entreat you to come and have a feel of what we have in stock for you. Thank you.

Best regards.

Mr Chris Delanyo

Headteacher, Secondary Department.
